Tashieka S. Burris-Melville is a lecturer in the Faculty of Education and Liberal Studies at the University of Technology, Jamaica. She currently serves as programme leader for the M.Ed. and Ph.D. in Educational Leadership and Management in the faculty. She holds a Doctor of Education specializing in Leadership and Professional Practice from Trevecca Nazarene University and a Master of Arts in Linguistics from the University of the West Indies, Mona. Dr. Burris-Melville has taught courses in academic writing, linguistics, and leadership at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Her research interests include sociolinguistics, applied linguistics, writing in higher education, teamwork development, collaborative and inclusive leadership, transformational leadership, and online teaching and learning.

Shalieka T. Burris, a seasoned practitioner in higher education, is a lecturer in the Faculty of Education and Liberal Studies at the University of Technology, Jamaica. With a decade of experience shaping minds in academic institutions, her pedagogical journey began with a rigorous teaching diploma from the esteemed Shortwood Teachers' College in Kingston. Further enriching her expertise, Dr. Burris pursued and attained her bachelor's and master's degrees in linguistics at the renowned University of the West Indies, Mona. She holds a doctorate in Leadership and Organizational Intelligence from Trevecca Nazarene University, Nashville. Dr. Burris's scholarly contributions extend beyond the classroom, evidenced by her peer-reviewed publications on collaboration and teamwork, academic literacy, and leadership. Her research pursuits encapsulate adult education, emotional intelligence, team dynamics, followership, leadership, academic literacy, online pedagogy, and applied linguistics.
