Gautam Shandilya

Gautam Shandilya is Assistant Professor in the Department of Hotel Management, BIT Mesra, Ranchi and has served in industry and academia for more than 23 years. He has several research papers, books, edited books, and book chapters to his credit. His interests lie in Tourism, Fast Food, Relationship Marketing, Entrepreneurship. He is Associate Editor of Journal of Hospitality Application and Research (JOHAR), an ABDC indexed Journal. He has presented research papers at several national and international conferences. He has edited and Co-Authored 3 books on Hotel and Hospitality industry and published several articles in journals. He is a proactive lecturer and researcher with more than 16 years of experience in teaching courses like Food Production, Food & Beverage Services, Event management, Communication Skills & Tourism at undergraduate & postgraduate level. He is skilled in food & beverage production, event organization & Microsoft Office. Apart from academics and research he is also very much active in taking administrative challenges at his university and has organized various theme lunches, food festivals and provided support in events of national repute like 34th National Games, BITOTSAV as Faculty Coordinator and Science and Technology Festival during Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav as Hospitality Coordinator. He has taken additional assignments like hostel warden, NSS Program Officer and served in various committees during Convocation, Athletic Meets, Induction Programs, Institute Foundation Day, Delegate’s visits, PANTHEON, VAJRA, Jharkhand Science and Environment Festival, Anti-ragging Squad, Value Education Cell, IKS programs, Central Mess Purchase, BITWS Corpus, Staff Club etc.
