Abstract
Agriculture and traditional science education intersect in agriscience courses at high schools across the state and nation in widely varied applications. Despite the introduction of the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) in 2012, practicing agriculture, food, and natural resource (AFNR) teachers and teacher educators are still learning how to implement NGSS alongside their career pathway and cluster standards in a way that is interdisciplinary. This chapter reviews literature addressing the integration of NGSS and AFNR as a mechanism for enhancing agriscience education.

Using Arts Education in STEM With the Science and Engineering Practice of Developing and Using Models
“Natural phenomena are observable events that occur in the universe and that we can use our science knowledge to explain or predict. The goal of building knowledge in science is to develop general ideas, based on evidence, that can explain and predict phenomena” (Achieve, 2016 AU97: The in-text citation "Achieve, 2016" is not in the reference list.
