Abstract

Over the past few years, online education has been an exciting research topic. Many educationists are working on the future and the scope of online education. Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, it has become a significant source of imparting knowledge among the youth, keeping in mind the health and safety of the children. While talking about EdTech, internet connectivity and the lecturer play a crucial role in defining the effectiveness of online education. The chapter mainly focuses on online education as a new emerging business in the country. The chapter also discusses its growing role and increasing contribution to GDP during the COVID-19 pandemic. Earlier, there was less awareness and trend of online learning; however, it is interesting to know that the pandemic has highlighted the importance of online learning, and it has emerged as a rare business that has shown an upward trend in crises. Online learning has emerged as an affordable, convenient and time-efficient method of gaining knowledge.
