Abstract

The present study explored the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on various aspects of B.Ed. student-teachers (session 2019-2021) in Odisha and West Bengal. This study is based on the descriptive survey method. All the B.Ed. student-teachers in the states of Odisha and West Bengal comprised the population of this study. One hundred four B.Ed. student-teachers (51 in Odisha and 53 in West Bengal) were selected through a random sampling technique. A questionnaire (in Google form) was used for the collection of the data. The findings indicated that overall 73.56% B.Ed. student-teachers opened that they were affected negatively in their financial condition and essential resources respectively. 76.21% of B.Ed. student-teachers were badly affected by the novel coronavirus in their mental health. The result also showed that 70.96% B.Ed. student-teachers were conscious about the coronavirus, and 81.49% of B.Ed. student-teachers opined that their education was affected by COVID-19 in both states. It helps to understand the actual problems learners face in this pandemic situation.

Literature Review

A review of related literature was done to find out the gaps in the researches done concerning the topic under study. It enables the investigator to delimit and define the problem and also in choosing and adopting the appropriate methodology.
