Abstract

As the industry transitions towards Industry 5.0, there is a growing demand for more advanced human-computer interfaces that incorporate artificial emotional intelligence capabilities. Artificial emotional intelligence enables computers to mimic human emotions, allowing for more intuitive and personalized interactions. The integration of artificial emotional intelligence into human-computer interfaces has the potential to revolutionize decision making in Industry 5.0. By incorporating emotional recognition and response capabilities, human-computer interfaces can become more intuitive, human-like, and collaborative. This chapter highlights the significance of artificial emotional intelligence in transforming human-computer interfaces, proposing an approach to seamless integration, and outlining potential applications in Industry 5.0. The future research focuses on addressing challenges and exploring new frontiers to further enhance the potential of artificial emotional intelligence-based human-computer interfaces.

Introduction

Human-computer interfaces can become more intuitive, empathetic, and human-like, fostering stronger user engagement by incorporating emotional recognition and response. This can enhance user experiences, improve decision-making accuracy and foster a more collaborative work environment (Stephanidis et al., 2023). To harness the potential of artificial emotional intelligence in human-computer interfaces, we propose a seamless integration of emotional sensing, analysis, and response mechanisms. By leveraging advanced machine learning algorithms and natural language processing techniques, human-computer interfaces can capture and process user emotions in real-time (Alhefeiti, 2018).

This emotional awareness can then be used to tailor system responses, providing contextually relevant information and guidance. The proposed integration of artificial emotional intelligence into human-computer interfaces offers numerous applications in Industry 5.0. By utilizing artificial emotional intelligence, human-computer interfaces can provide personalized care and assistance to patients, ensuring their emotional well-being (Huang et al., 2021). Additionally, artificial emotional intelligence can be integrated into smart buildings and transportation systems, enabling adaptive and personalized experiences for users.

While the integration of artificial emotional intelligence into human-computer interfaces holds great promise, several challenges need to be addressed (Rezaev et al. 2023). The significant challenge is the development of robust and emotionally intelligent algorithms that can accurately interpret and respond to user emotions. Additionally, ethical considerations must be addressed to ensure user privacy and data protection. Future research should focus on addressing these challenges and exploring innovative approaches to further enhance the transformative impact of artificial emotional intelligence based human-computer interfaces in Industry 5.0 (Alam, 2022).
