Description & Coverage
Description:

In recent years, the exploration of marine ecosystems has unveiled a plethora of bioactive compounds with remarkable therapeutic potential. The oceans, covering over 70% of the Earth’s surface, are a rich source of biodiversity, harbouring organisms that have evolved unique biochemical pathways to survive in extreme conditions. These marine metabolites, produced by marine microorganisms, invertebrates, and algae, have demonstrated significant pharmacological activities, ranging from antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory to anticancer and neuroprotective properties.

Marine Metabolites in Disease Management compiles and synthesizes current research on the role of marine-derived compounds in the prevention and treatment of various diseases. This work is a collaborative effort, bringing together insights from leading researchers and clinicians who have dedicated their careers to the study of marine natural products. Through their contributions, the gap between marine biotechnology and clinical applications is bridged, providing a comprehensive resource for researchers, healthcare professionals, and policymakers.
