Editor/Author Biographies

Vipin Nadda is working as Lecturer and Programme Manager (Postgraduate-Tourism & Hospitality) with University of Sunderland in London. Some of his previous responsibilities involved Lecturer in tourism and hospitality management at Oxford House College, London and Kurukshetra University in India. He also freelance as 'consultant' for Confederation of tourism and Hospitality, Anglia Ruskin University, BPP University and Cardiff Metropolitan University. He has more than twenty years of experience in education, Industry and research and besides PhD in tourism, also written book Chapters, published four books, attended, presented papers in various international conferences/seminars and organised International academic conferences. He is Editor-in Chief for International Journal of Entrepreneurship Management Development and Innovation. As an experienced academician, he has been Lecturing/teaching a variety of subjects ranging from, Strategic tourism development, Destination branding, global tourism, sustainable tourism development, hospitality management studies, Tourism Marketing and International Hospitality Marketing, Marketing strategy, International business environment, Applied Research Methods, supervising MBA, MSc, and PhD Dissertation projects in UK as well as overseas. Dr. Nadda has been also actively involved in development of Programme at different awarding bodies. He has been working with confederation of tourism and hospitality awarding body based at London as an exam board member, external examiner and assessor for last seven years and has helped to develop level-5/6 qualifications for them, which are Ofqual, recognised and delivered globally. He has international exposure, having taught students from various nationalities, which evidences his adaptability, diversity and multi-levelled skills.

Ian Arnott has written published academic papers in the field of sports events management and is also a practitioner in event management delivery. Therefore, his knowledge is both that of an academic, disseminating this to future event managers who are studying as well those who work in the industry today. Part of the process when he is working in the delivery is working with key stakeholders in the emergency services and also National Governing Bodies in sport.

As well as this, Ian feels for those who wish to embark on a career in the industry, it’s important that they get a wealth of experiences, so they can understand the diversity of the industry. Therefore, he works with key providers at local, national and international level to expose the future events managers and practitioners the opportunities to work alongside them gaining invaluable knowledge and experience.

Wendy Sealy is a destination and tourism product-marketing expert helping tourism businesses to increase their revenue yield. She is a motivational speaker and as an entrepreneur is the owner of Crystal Jewells. Dr. Sealy has been lecturing since 2005. Before joining the University of Chichester, she taught at the undergraduate and post-graduate level in Tourism Management at Buckinghamshire New University and at the postgraduate level in Sport and Event Management at the University of the West-Indies. Dr. Sealy graduated from the University of the West Indies with a first class honours degree in History and Sociology. She later completed her masters degree in Tourism Marketing with distinction at the University of Surrey and her Doctor of Philosophy degree with Brunel University, London. Dr. Sealy is responsible for coordinating the teaching, learning and research activities for the BA (Hons) Event Management within the Business School.She is responsible for employer-student engagement activity and the co-ordination of live event projects under the provision of the event management degree programme. Wendy is particularly interested in the experiences of event management students in higher education and has spent a considerable amount of time conducting research and publishing work in this area. She is the creator of the Event Management Body of Skills (EMBOS) model for event management education, published in Event Management – an International Journal. Her other interest involves experimenting with different ways to embed employability into the students’ higher education experiences in order to ensure that they can compete for jobs at graduation. She is also the Associate Editor of the Journal of Tourism and Sustainability and a member of the editorial committee of the Journal of International Tourism and Hospitality.Dr. Sealy has published her research in several academic journals and books including the Journal of Travel and Tourism Marketing, the Journal of Travel Research and The International Journal on Tourism and Sustainability.
