Editor/Author Biographies
Ricardo Fontes Correia is Associated Professor at the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança (Portugal), where he is the head of the Master programme in Tourism Marketing, and visiting Professor at ISM University of Management and Economics (Lithuania). Ricardo has served as an external consultant in programs such as the European Union Agris Program and Interreg and as consultant for Deloitte & Touche. We should also emphasize his regular participation in research programs, conferences and international scientific meetings, as well as the publication of several chapters in books and articles in international journals.
Márcio Martins has a PhD in Tourism from the University of Aveiro, a master's degree in Natural Hazards Management and a degree in Geography from the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the University of Porto. He is currently an Adjunct Professor at the Polytechnic University of Bragança (IPB) and his main research areas are the spatiotemporal behaviour of tourists, tourist tracking technologies and backpacker tourism. He is currently an integrated member of CITED - IPB's Centre for Transdisciplinary Research in Education and Development, a collaborating member of the Centre for Research, Development and Innovation in Tourism (CITUR) and also of IPB's Management Applied Research Unit (UNIAG). He is the author of a book, several book chapters and several scientific articles in international journals (Scopus/WoS), and has also presented several papers at scientific conferences in the field of tourism. He has participated in research projects supported by FCT and is a reviewer for some international scientific journals.
Ruta Fontes is a PhD student specializing in Tourism at Aveiro University. With a passion for exploring the fascinating world of travel and leisure, she has delved deep into the realm of tourism behavior and spatiotemporal tracking. Ruta's academic journey has been marked by a commitment to research excellence, with numerous publications including papers and book chapters.
