Description & Coverage
Description:

The book subject is inclusivity and indigenous knowledge systems. The book: Approaching Inclusive Education from an African indigenous knowledge systems perspective gives insights on how inclusive education could be approached from African indigenous knowledge systems (IKS). It goes at length showing how matters like collectivism, socialism, Ubuntu, togetherness, oneness, etc. could foster and enhance the design, development, and delivery of an inclusive education curriculum from an African perspective. African Inclusive education problems need African solutions. Authors of various chapters are tapping on African experiences, knowledge, skills, values an attitude in addressing inclusive education problems. Academically, the book adds to the body of knowledge as African philosophies are not yet at the same level as other philosophies when coming to education issues.
