This handbook will be geared toward higher education faculty teaching in the online learning environment and will be applicable for those working full time, part time, adjunct, and in public or private institutions. Online instructors often move to the virtual learning environment after having spent some time teaching in a traditional classroom. The call for chapters would invite current practitioners to highlight and share strategies and best practices for success, and the handbook would serve as a platform for the exchange of ideas for the benefit of an important subset of higher education faculty, those teaching is online or virtual programs. The skills and approaches that work in traditional classrooms differ from those found to be most beneficial in the online classroom. This handbook is intended to draw the attention of online instructors as well as directors working in higher education.
