Maybel Fernandez Vallado

Maybel Fernandez-Vallado is an alumna of the University of the Philippines (Diliman); and former Senior Lecturer 2 (September 2020 to June 2023) and former Faculty Member of the College of Arts and Sciences, University of the Philippines Visayas. Maybel was born in Quezon City (Philippines) but currently resides in the bustling city of Dubai. Her life is defined by several key passions and roles. First and foremost, Maybel is a devout follower of Jesus, and her faith is the guiding light of her life. She finds solace, strength, and purpose in her spirituality, exemplifying the teachings of love and compassion. As a loving wife to Emmanuel, Maybel shares a deep and enduring bond with her husband. Their relationship is built on the foundation of love, trust, and mutual respect. In addition, Maybel has a profound love for reading, with books being both a source of knowledge and a gateway to diverse worlds. She cherishes the written Word and uses it as a means of personal growth and connection with others. Another creative outlet for Maybel is her passion for crochet. She enjoys weaving intricate patterns and creating beautiful, handmade pieces that radiate warmth and care. Finally, Maybel finds joy in praying for people. She is always ready to offer her prayers and support to those in need, exemplifying her deep concern for the well-being of others. As a mother, Maybel and Emmanuel are blessed with six adult children who carry forward their values of faith, love, and kindness, making them proud parents. She also wrote Chapter 2: “Communication Dynamics of Women in MIcrofinance Projects as a Model for Women Empowerment: Microfinance for Poverty Alleviation in the Philippines” of the book entitled: Empowering Women in Microfinance in Developing Countries, published by IGI Global in October 2023.
