Carissa J. Howard

Carissa Howard has been a practicing Child Life Specialist for 20 years. Her areas of expertise are the Pediatric Emergency Department and Pediatric Palliative Care. Carissa has been an internship supervisor and preceptor for more than 10 years. She has been an Assistant Professor at Azusa Pacific University for 6 years, teaching in the undergraduate Psychology and graduate Child Life departments. Carissa is passionate about interprofessional education and collaboration for University students. Each summer, Carissa co-directs Camp Morning, a grief and loss day camp for children ages 5-15.
