Adheesh Budree

Adheesh Budree is an Associate Professor in Information Systems at the University of Cape Town. He holds qualifications in a number of diverse fields including a PhD in Information Systems from UWC, an MSc in Financial Economics from University of London (SOAS), an MA in Creative Writing from UCT, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Higher Education Studies from UCT. Adheesh is an avid reader, writer and global explorer and has a close relationship with the subcontinent. He owns RETZA Touring, conducting motorcycle tours and rentals around South Africa on Indian-built Royal Enfield motorcycles and taking South Africans on tours in the Himalayans. Adheesh published his first novel, Inheritance, in 2022 about a young South African who travels to India to find his roots in order to claim his inheritance. He is currently reading towards a Master of Education in Higher Education Studies at UCT, exploring decoloniality in curriculum development.
