Editor/Author Biographies
Tashieka S. Burris-Melville is a lecturer in the Faculty of Education and Liberal Studies at the University of Technology, Jamaica. She holds a doctoral degree in Leadership and Professional Practice from Trevecca Nazarene University and a Master of Arts in Linguistics from the University of the West Indies, Mona. With a versatile teaching background, she has delivered courses in academic writing, linguistics, and leadership at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Driven by a passion for learning and a commitment to scholarly inquiry, Dr. Burris-Melville has authored, co-authored, and presented papers on various topics. Her research interests include sociolinguistics, applied linguistics, writing in higher education, teamwork development, collective leadership, collaborative and inclusive leadership, transformational leadership, and online teaching and learning.
Shalieka T. Burris , a seasoned practitioner in higher education, is a lecturer in the Faculty of Education and Liberal Studies at the University of Technology, Jamaica. Boasting nearly a decade of experience shaping minds in academic institutions, her pedagogical journey began with a rigorous teaching diploma from the esteemed Shortwood Teachers' College in Kingston. Further enriching her expertise, Ms. Burris pursued and attained her bachelor's and master's degrees in linguistics at the renowned University of the West Indies, Mona. Currently, she is pursuing doctoral knowledge in Leadership and Organizational Intelligence at Trevecca Nazarene University, Nashville. Ms. Burris's scholarly contributions extend beyond the classroom, evidenced by her peer-reviewed publications and research conference presentations on collaborative learning and academic writing themes. Her research pursuits encapsulate adult education, emotional intelligence, team dynamics, followership, leadership, academic literacy, online pedagogy, and applied linguistics.
