Abstract

This chapter aims to solve the problem of heavy traffic caused due to a long queue near the toll plaza. The authors design the website with the motive that it will save the maximum time of the public, reducing the problem of heavy traffic. Moreover, the website maintains the entire database containing the details of the staff, pass, receipts, vehicle details, etc., which will reduce any problem in the future. Since they are also aware of the fact that in many villages in India, there are not even proper toll booths to pay taxes, and people are doing it manually, which can result in data loss and even is time-consuming. So, keeping this mind, they aim to design the website that is simple to use such that every people working in toll booth can get habituated to it easily. They also aim to make this website fully secure such that data can be protected and citizens are comfortable providing their details to create their pass and generate receipts. The main feature is that users can also generate receipt for themselves from anywhere through website to avoid waste of time at toll.

Introduction

Toll booth system is available for use of both the administration, staff and the users. The administrator, staffs and users will be able to access the frontend of the webpage. The program experiences http server and the Application server deals with the association between the front end and backend. A wide range of data and information that are vital for the clients are put in database server. This system provides all the information about toll plaza. How the passenger checks in, pays the amount and how they will be provided by a receipt. With this receipt he/she can leave the toll booth without waiting for any verification. It also covers registration of staff, toll plaza collection for vehicles, date wise report entry, Vehicles entry and passing reports date wise.

It has three modules Admin, Staff and User. The system will consist an administrator login. The system will store user information like name, car number and with its details and address, administrator information like email address, password and the toll plaza that comes under the employee. The user will be able to get a receipt for them from anywhere through the website. The administrator will be able to view the transaction that occurred during the day with the transaction details and the total money collected during the day. The car will only be allowed to pass if the toll is paid through the system. The information will be stored in the data base after each transaction. The user can only view his/her own transactions details. All day-wise transactions will be displayed to the administrator.

Administrator will be able to set and update the charges of the vehicle categories. On each successful payment at the toll or at the website user will be provided by the receipt. Website will have facility to retrieve forgot password. This application is to motivate the user, staffs and the administrator to be more digitalized. System will help admin to get the statistical data for the sales on daily or monthly or quarterly or annually basis.
