Introduction

Companies and governments need to fully grasp the opportunities offered by new and emerging technologies. It is important to explore how governments and companies are navigating the digital and green transition in different regions (Asia, Europe, Gulf Region, Africa and Latin-America as well as in USA and Canada) and how they use their intellectual capital to create long term sustainable competitive advantage. Additionally, the book will analyze how human resource management and knowledge management can support digital business and economies in the twin transition.

Objective

The main goal of the book is to analyze business, human resource management and information technologies in different regions and discuss implications for companies and governments. It is crucial to understand the key role of new and emerging technologies for the digital transformation of economies and societies and build more resilient and fair societies. With this aim, the book will discuss innovative theories, methodologies, and practices, exploring successful stories and the lessons to be learnt. It will explore national policies and strategies of governments as well as tools and practices development by companies in these regions. The book will study how digital transformation, human resource management and knowledge management can impact the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals. Innovative features of the book: • Discussion of current challenges, opportunities, and risks for companies. • Analysis of current and future needs of labor markets. • Discussion of the digital transformation of human resource management in companies and organizations. • Discussion of new approaches, theories, and empirical evidence about business, human resource management and intellectual capital. • Exploration of the role of digital technologies in companies, organizations, and government. • Find out how the human resources, knowledge management and intellectual capital can contribute to the achievement of the SDGs. • Geographical coverage, showing initiatives and experiences from different countries and regions. • Wide coverage of different sectors and industries.

Target Audience

The book aims to be an international platform to foster dialogue among academics, researchers, decision makers, policymakers, and practitioners, share new theories and frameworks, research findings, and case studies, to enhance the sharing of ideas and knowledge and promote scientific collaboration in the fields of digital business, green economy, human resource management, knowledge management and innovation. The book will present innovative ideas and solutions to boost competitiveness of companies, countries and regions as well as building more more sustainable and climate neutral economies and societies.

Submission Procedure

Researchers and practitioners are invited to submit on or before September 29, 2024, a chapter proposal of 1,000 to 2,000 words clearly explaining the mission and concerns of his or her proposed chapter. Authors will be notified by October 1, 2024 about the status of their proposals and sent chapter guidelines. Full chapters of a minimum of 10,000 words (word count includes references and related readings) are expected to be submitted by November 15, 2024, and all interested authors must consult the guidelines for manuscript submissions at https://www.igi-global.com/publish/contributor-resources/before-you-write/ prior to submission. All submitted chapters will be reviewed on a double-anonymized review basis. Contributors may also be requested to serve as reviewers for this project.

Note: There are no submission or acceptance fees for manuscripts submitted to this book publication, Insights Into Digital Business, Human Resource Management, and Competitiveness. All manuscripts are accepted based on a double-anonymized peer review editorial process.
