Introduction

Type: Collective monograph Object of study: Ecological environment Subject of research: monitoring technologies Research methods: theoretical and empirical, questionnaires The general idea is to analyze global experience for creating a monitoring system that will provide an accurate analysis of the state of the environment and allow for prompt, targeted measures to improve it. The purpose of the book is to summarize, systematize and evaluate monitoring technologies to improve the environmental situation and ensure the environmental safety, taking into account regional characteristics; specifics of natural complexes, level of anthropogenic load, etc. Problem: the book will describes the problems of environmental deterioration, the emergence of previously unknown anthropogenic factors and substantiates the need to introduce effective technologies to control and improve the environmental situation, and in general proposes a model of an innovative monitoring system.

Objective

The objectives of the book include: a) research of existing technologies and description of the most significant projects; b) analysis and forecast of new environmental challenges faced by modern society; c) assessment of their impact on human health; c) review of modern technologies and methods for environmental monitoring, their advantages and areas of application; d) development forecast; e) justification of the need to introduce innovative technologies to solve problems; f) development of new monitoring methods, including traditional as well as innovative ones (geographic information technologies, remote sensing of the Earth, machine learning, artificial intelligence, big data analytics, etc.); g) testing in real conditions; h) implementation and training of personnel; f) participation of science, government and business.

Target Audience

Target audience: scientists, teachers, specialists and managers of manufacturing enterprises, as well as organizations involved in nature conservation; state environmental structures; citizens, etc.

Submission Procedure

Researchers and practitioners are invited to submit on or before August 18, 2024, a chapter proposal of 1,000 to 2,000 words clearly explaining the mission and concerns of his or her proposed chapter. Authors will be notified by September 1, 2024 about the status of their proposals and sent chapter guidelines.Full chapters of a minimum of 10,000 words (word count includes references and related readings) are expected to be submitted by November 10, 2024, and all interested authors must consult the guidelines for manuscript submissions at https://www.igi-global.com/publish/contributor-resources/before-you-write/ prior to submission. All submitted chapters will be reviewed on a double-anonymized review basis. Contributors may also be requested to serve as reviewers for this project.

Note: There are no submission or acceptance fees for manuscripts submitted to this book publication, Environmental Monitoring Technologies for Improving Global Human Health. All manuscripts are accepted based on a double-anonymized peer review editorial process.
