The book "Human-Centric, Sustainable, and Resilient Organizations in the Digital Age” offers a comprehensive guide for business leaders, entrepreneurs, and policymakers seeking to explore the latest trends, academic insights, and business perspectives related to industry 5.0 and digitalization to be able to establish and maintain sustainable, human-centric, and resilient organizations that can thrive in the future.

Objective

The emergence of Industry 5.0 has been acknowledged as a complementary concept to Industry 4.0, as it recognizes the value of digital industrial transformation in preserving the environment and society. Unlike Industry 4.0, Industry 5.0 should not be seen as a mere successor in a chronological sequence. Instead, it represents a forward-looking agenda that builds upon the foundational technologies, principles, and components of Industry 4.0 to promote sustainability, particularly through environmentalism, human-centricity, and economic resilience. While both concepts share certain technological and techno-functional similarities, Industry 5.0 surpasses its predecessor by providing the necessary direction for a competitive and sustainable future industry. Thus, Industry 5.0 expands its intended values beyond productivity-driven economic growth, encompassing economic circularity, environmental sustainability, human-centricity, social values, and long-term resilience. Undoubtedly, the coexistence of these two Industrial Revolutions has sparked numerous inquiries within both the scientific community and the industry itself. Hence our main goal and value in this book lie on the development of Industry 5.0 and strategic perspective on its implementation in different organizations and industries. Hence, our book is expected to offer a comprehensive guide for business leaders, entrepreneurs, and policymakers seeking to explore the latest trends, academic and business perspectives related to industry 5.0 and digitalization to be able to establish and maintain sustainable, human-centric, and resilient organizations that can thrive in the future. This book will provide invaluable insights that can enable industries and academicians to realize their potential and open doors to new opportunities, while also posing new challenges to strategy makers who will need to adapt and evolve or take the risk of being disrupted.

Target Audience

The audience includes university professors, academic researchers, university students, as well as practitioners from various industries in general that should be concerned with digital transformation and its related contexts. The book's combined findings are expected to have far reaching implications on the future direction of research within the field of Industry 5.0 and digital transformation, and offer insights for practitioner and theory-based actions in decision making, particularly within the business context of Middle East, Europe and Asia.
