Introduction

We are pleased to invite chapter proposals for the upcoming book titled "Harnessing AI in Geospatial Technology for Environmental Monitoring and Management." This book aims to explore the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) with geospatial technologies to advance environmental monitoring and management practices. We seek contributions from researchers, practitioners, and experts in the fields of AI, geospatial science, environmental science, and related disciplines.

Objective

To provide a foundational understanding of artificial intelligence (AI) and geospatial technology, including their core principles, methodologies, and tools. To explore various AI techniques such as machine learning and deep learning, and their applications in analyzing geospatial data for environmental monitoring. To discuss methods for acquiring high-resolution geospatial data through satellites, drones, and IoT sensors, and to detail the preprocessing steps necessary for effective data analysis. To present case studies and examples of AI-enhanced geospatial technology in monitoring air and water quality, soil health, biodiversity, smart agriculture, and urban planning. To identify and discuss the challenges related to data privacy, security, and ethical considerations, including issues of bias and transparency in AI applications. To examine emerging technologies and future trends in AI and geospatial technology, and to highlight opportunities for innovation and interdisciplinary collaboration. To emphasize the role of AI-integrated geospatial technology in facilitating more informed, data-driven decision-making processes for sustainable environmental management. To underscore the potential of AI and geospatial technology in advancing sustainable practices and contributing to a resilient and sustainable future.
