Introduction

In an era marked by rapid urbanization and technological advancement, cities across the globe are striving to become smarter, more efficient, and more liveable. The convergence of artificial intelligence (AI) with urban planning and management has ushered in a new wave of innovation, aimed at transforming the urban landscape. The Book Titled “Citizen-Centric Artificial Intelligence for Smart Cities ” focuses on leveraging AI technologies to enhance urban living by prioritizing the needs and experiences of citizens. The integration of AI into smart city infrastructure aims to improve various aspects of city life, including transportation, healthcare, energy management, and public safety "Citizen-Centric Artificial Intelligence for Smart Cities" book comprising of various chapters will delve into this transformative journey, offering a comprehensive exploration of how AI can be harnessed to create cities that prioritize the needs, aspirations, and well-being of their residents. This book is founded on the principle that technology should serve people. As such, it focuses on the integration of AI in a way that enhances the quality of life for all citizens, rather than merely deploying technology for technology's sake. By adopting a citizen-centric approach, this work underscores the importance of inclusivity, accessibility, and transparency in the deployment of AI-driven solutions.

Objective

1.Highlight the Role of AI in Urban Transformation: Demonstrate how AI technologies are being leveraged to address critical urban challenges such as traffic congestion, energy management, healthcare delivery, and public safety. 2.Promote Inclusivity and Accessibility: Discuss strategies to ensure that AI solutions are accessible to all segments of the population, including marginalized and underserved communities, fostering a sense of inclusiveness. 3.Encourage Data-Driven Decision Making: Illustrate how AI can enhance decision-making processes through the analysis of large datasets, leading to more efficient and effective urban management. 4.Ensure Transparency and Accountability: Explore the ethical and regulatory frameworks necessary to ensure that AI systems are transparent, accountable, and aligned with the public interest. 5.Foster Sustainable Urban Development: Present AI-driven approaches that contribute to the sustainability of urban environments, including energy efficiency, pollution reduction, and the promotion of renewable resources. Submission Procedure

Researchers and practitioners are invited to submit on or before July 21, 2024, a chapter proposal of 1,000 to 2,000 words clearly explaining the mission and concerns of his or her proposed chapter. Authors will be notified by August 4, 2024 about the status of their proposals and sent chapter guidelines.Full chapters are expected to be submitted by October 13, 2024, and all interested authors must consult the guidelines for manuscript submissions at https://www.igi-global.com/publish/contributor-resources/before-you-write/ prior to submission. All submitted chapters will be reviewed on a double-anonymized review basis. Contributors may also be requested to serve as reviewers for this project.
