Introduction

We are excited to announce a call for chapter proposals for our upcoming book, "Assessing Geo-Hazards and Climate Change Through Geospatial Techniques." This publication seeks to compile cutting-edge research and practical applications of geospatial technologies in evaluating geo-hazards and climate change impacts. It will offer an extensive overview of recent advancements, methodologies, and tools in geospatial technology, highlighting their role in understanding and mitigating the effects of natural hazards and climate variability.

Objective

A key objective of the book "Assessing Geo-Hazards and Climate Change Through Geospatial Techniques" is to deliver a thorough overview of the latest advancements in geospatial technologies and their use in understanding, assessing, and mitigating the impacts of geo-hazards and climate change. This includes showcasing innovative methodologies, case studies, and practical applications that demonstrate how geospatial tools enhance our ability to predict, prepare for, and respond to natural hazards and climate-related challenges.

Target Audience

This book is designed for researchers, practitioners, policymakers, and advanced students in geospatial science, environmental science, disaster management, and climate studies. It will serve as a valuable resource for anyone looking to understand how geospatial technologies can be integrated to assess and mitigate the impacts of geo-hazards and climate change.

Recommended Topics

The book will cover a wide range of topics including, but not limited to: - Geospatial Data and Techniques: Remote sensing, GIS, spatial analysis, and modeling techniques. - Geo-Hazards Assessment: Earthquakes, landslides, floods and other natural hazards. - Climate Change Impacts: Assessment of climate change on weather patterns, sea level rise, temperature anomalies, and their socio-economic impacts. - Mitigation and Adaptation Strategies: Geospatial approaches to disaster risk reduction, climate resilience, and sustainable development.

Submission Procedure

Researchers and practitioners are invited to submit on or before July 11, 2024, a chapter proposal of 1,000 to 2,000 words clearly explaining the mission and concerns of his or her proposed chapter. Authors will be notified by July 25, 2024 about the status of their proposals and sent chapter guidelines.Full chapters are expected to be submitted by September 12, 2024, and all interested authors must consult the guidelines for manuscript submissions at https://www.igi-global.com/publish/contributor-resources/before-you-write/ prior to submission. All submitted chapters will be reviewed on a double-anonymized review basis. Contributors may also be requested to serve as reviewers for this project.

Note: There are no submission or acceptance fees for manuscripts submitted to this book publication, Assessing Geo-Hazards and Climate Change Through Geospatial Techniques. All manuscripts are accepted based on a double-anonymized peer review editorial process.

All proposals should be submitted through the eEditorial Discovery® online submission manager.
