Introduction

Project management for instructional designers is a growing field that has limited literature for both new and seasoned instructional designers to learn from authentic activities that have real world applications. This book will address the gaps in available literature that can be useful for new and seasoned instructional designers who must develop instructional design plans to solve real world learning and training problems.

Objective

After reading this book, instructional designers and other professionals who work in instructional design teams will be able to apply effective project management strategies to solve real world learning and training needs. The book will provide case scenarios and sample project management solutions demonstrating the application of instructional systems design models to address real world learning or training problems. Tools for effective project management will be featured in the book as well as the integration of generative artificial intelligence and ethical use within instructional design projects. Furthermore, the book will provide tools, models, samples, case scenarios, and definitions to address current gaps in the literature in the field of project management for instructional designers.

Target Audience

The following groups will benefit from this book: higher education faculty, higher education students, K-12 educators, instructional designers, curriculum developers, and project managers.

Topics can include the following: Project Management for Instructional Designers, Curriculum Design and Project Management, Educational Project Management, Curriculum Design Case Studies, Introduction to Project Management, Ethical Uses of Generative Artificial Intelligence in Instructional Design, Project Management Tools, Instructional Design Case Studies, Educational Technology Case Studies, Future Oriented Instructional Design, Instructional Design Challenges, Instructional Design Models and ADDIE, Agile Instructional Design, and the Future of Instructional Design. All chapters require APA 7th edition.

Submission Procedure

Researchers and practitioners are invited to submit on or before September 8, 2024, a chapter proposal of 1,000 to 2,000 words clearly explaining the mission and concerns of his or her proposed chapter. Authors will be notified by September 10, 2024 about the status of their proposals and sent chapter guidelines.Full chapters are expected to be submitted by October 13, 2024, and all interested authors must consult the guidelines for manuscript submissions at https://www.igi-global.com/publish/contributor-resources/before-you-write/ prior to submission. All submitted chapters will be reviewed on a double-anonymized review basis. Contributors may also be requested to serve as reviewers for this project.

Note: There are no submission or acceptance fees for manuscripts submitted to this book publication, Applying Case Strategies to Enhance Learning and Instructional Systems Design. All manuscripts are accepted based on a double-anonymized peer review editorial process.
