Call for Chapters

Proposals Submission Deadline: September 22, 2024
Full Chapters Due: January 5, 2025
Submission Date: January 5, 2025

Introduction

The field of educational leadership encapsulates complex transformative avenues for overcoming systemic barriers in K-12 schools and districts, community colleges, and universities. Therefore, it is important to understand research and practical strategies educational leaders leverage to move education toward diversity, equity, and inclusion through multiple perspectives. In this, an understanding of policy and theory to practice influencing positive changes in outcomes for students, faculty, teachers, administrators, staff, families, and community members, may propel intersectional contexts toward a common goal of equitable, sustainable change for all.

Objective

This co-edited book of at least 15 chapters will aim to provide relevant theoretical frameworks and the latest empirical research findings in the area of educational leadership. The research community will be impacted by the compilation of research in conjunction with practical strategies from key leaders in the socially just, culturally responsive educational leadership coming together for a comprehensive connected look using research to inform practices along the education continuum. We often see books specific to a level of education, siloed within a single system. This book opens the door for leaders to begin to understand the whole system, beginning as students enter into, navigate through, and continue beyond each level of the school system. The challenges in education are replicated across the systems, and a need exists for researchers and practitioners to understand the entirety of our educational system, and then view a new way of using research to inform and tool themselves to meet the needs faced within education today.

Target Audience

The target audience of this book will be composed of educational leadership practitioners, including but not limited to the following: school principals, district and county office managers, superintendents, student affairs officers, community college deans, university deans, educational administration and leadership faculty, and community educational leaders. Moreover, the book will provide insights into a range of leadership perspectives within and across the educational systems in K-12 and higher education.
