Introduction

Workplace Wellbeing is conventionally an area of study and organizational endeavour that falls under Occupational Health and Safety (OHS). However workplace wellbeing cannot be so easily categorised as it encompasses a wide area of an organization beyond the physical realms of OHS. It is related to all aspects of working life from the quality and safety of the physical environment, to how workers feel about their work, their working environment, the climate at work and the ecology of work in organization. The aim of measures for workplace well-being is to complement OSH measures to make sure workers are safe, healthy, satisfied and engaged at work (International Labour Organisation (ILO), 2024). The key factor is to determine an organization's long-term effectiveness with many studies showing a direct link between productivity levels and the general health and well-being of the workforce.

There are many topics including applied psychology, organizational psychology, positive psychology and workplace spirituality which influence workplace wellbeing. Since individual employee's wellbeing plays an equal influence on workplace wellbeing, alongwith with various aspects of psychology, digital health also plays an influential role in shaping wellbeing in organisations. Other than digital health applications other self-managed practices are currently being used to sustain, manage and enhance individual's mental health which when connects with the workforce ripples into impacting workplace wellbeing.

The book dwells upon both perspectives - individual wellbeing affecting workplace wellbeing and organisational practices, and policies influencing workplace wellbeing.
