Introduction

As healthcare systems continually improve and evolve, health professionals must adapt and broaden their roles accordingly. Therefore, it is crucial to ensure that the current and future health workforce receives proper training, considering the new competencies required to deliver exceptional multidisciplinary patient healthcare. This comprehensive book aims to provide an in-depth exploration of innovative teaching practices and methodologies specifically tailored for health professions curricula both in intital and lifelong learning.

Objective

The goal of Instructional Approaches for Health Professions Education is to present teaching practices and methods for health professions curricula and offer reviews of pedagogical methodologies in initial training and lifelong learning scenarios. The chapters should cover learning outcomes on both general and specific topics, assess the impact of undergraduate interventions, and compare various teaching pedagogies and models. Addressing areas such as perspectives on learning and teaching, evidence-based practice education, and the relationships between academia and professionals, this book caters to a diverse audience, including health professionals, practitioners, teachers, schools/colleges/universities, faculty, international organizations, clinicians, researchers, academicians, and students who are interested in learning about the latest pedagogical methodologies for health professionals.

Submission Procedure

Researchers and practitioners are invited to submit on or before July 8, 2024, a chapter proposal of 1,000 to 2,000 words clearly explaining the mission and concerns of his or her proposed chapter. Authors will be notified by July 15, 2024 about the status of their proposals and sent chapter guidelines. Full chapters are expected to be submitted by August 5, 2024, and all interested authors must consult the guidelines for manuscript submissions at https://www.igi-global.com/publish/contributor-resources/before-you-write/ prior to submission. All submitted chapters will be reviewed on a double-blind review basis. Contributors may also be requested to serve as reviewers for this project.

Note: There are no submission or acceptance fees for manuscripts submitted to this book publication, Instructional Approaches for Health Professions Education. All manuscripts are accepted based on a double-blind peer review editorial process.
