Call for Chapters

Proposals Submission Deadline: October 22, 2023
Full Chapters Due: June 30, 2024
Submission Date: June 30, 2024

Introduction

The management of the thermal energy produced and consumed in various practical applications appeared as a result of the technologies' continuous development, the measurement possibilities, the analysis and interpretation of the results, as well as the possibilities of quick action on non-compliant elements. The main functions of thermal energy management are to detect, control, program, analyse and act to ensure economic operation, with increased safety of technical equipment and user safety. Current studies and researches focus on priority issues regarding a new orientation toward thermal energy management: - to existing practical applications - decreasing energy consumption and conventional fossil fuels used for thermal energy generation by implementing technical and economic measures; - to new practical applications - the adoption of measures aimed at saving energy while increasing the degree of alternative energy resources use, increasing safety in operation, and decreasing the degree of environmental pollution.

Objective

This book will address current topics from a scientific, technological, but also socio-economic and environmental point of view regarding thermal energy management: energy sources and resources, nature of energy consumed, energy consumption in various practical applications (buildings, vehicles, industrial machines, technological processes), energy balances, solutions regarding energy consumption, technologies for management and efficiency of energy consumption, thermal energy management technologies, advanced components, materials and equipment that contribute to energy efficiency, etc.

Target Audience

This book targets advanced-level students, researchers, specialists, and practitioners in areas of interest: thermal management, energy efficiency, sustainable industrial processes, nearly zero energy building, green alternative energy resources, clean alternative fuels, sustainable thermal machines and equipment, chemistry, physics, mechanics, machine construction and plant engineering, automotive engineering, electrical engineering, environmental engineering, process and materials engineering and anyone interested in new clean energy technologies, ecological energy generation systems or advanced thermal management. Other stakeholders who are interested in specific associated technologies or thermal energy efficiency measures will also find this book very useful in their research. Also, this book aims to provide a platform for researchers and practitioners, both from academia and industry, to present their latest research results and state-of-the-art methodologies that address top concerns and to establish cooperative research and development at worldwide.

Recommended Topics

Relevant and meaningful chapters that discuss the "Sustainable Approaches to Thermal Energy Management" state-of-the-art for all three core components of a thermo-energetic system: A. Thermal Energy Production. B. Storage, Transport and Distribution of Thermal Energy. C. Thermal Energy Consumption. Case studies and practical applications detailing new approaches to thermal energy management in the fields of buildings, automotive and industrial processes. Interest topics: - Thermal Management Solutions, - Advanced Thermal Management Technologies, - Thermal Management in Energy Systems, - energy audit of buildings, - energy audits in industrial processes, - thermal management system and control strategy for automotive engines, - Thermal Management in Electric Vehicles, - Internet of Things for the Intelligent Thermal Management, - machine learning assisted advanced thermal management.

Submission Procedure

Researchers and practitioners are invited to submit on or before October 22, 2023, a chapter proposal of 1,000 to 2,000 words clearly explaining the mission and concerns of his or her proposed chapter. Authors will be notified by November 5, 2023 about the status of their proposals and sent chapter guidelines.Full chapters are expected to be submitted by June 30, 2024, and all interested authors must consult the guidelines for manuscript submissions at https://www.igi-global.com/publish/contributor-resources/before-you-write/ prior to submission. All submitted chapters will be reviewed on a double-blind review basis. Contributors may also be requested to serve as reviewers for this project.

Note: There are no submission or acceptance fees for manuscripts submitted to this book publication, Sustainable Approaches to Thermal Energy Management. All manuscripts are accepted based on a double-blind peer review editorial process.

All proposals should be submitted through the eEditorial Discovery® online submission manager.
