Technology Innovation Spotlight: TAIWAN

Taiwan is a small island nation located off China's east coast. Extremely versatile for its size, Taiwan boasts modern cities, traditional Chinese temples, hot springs resorts and dramatic mountainous terrain. Taipei, the country’s capital in the north, is a modern metropolis with Japanese colonial lanes, busy night markets and contemporary buildings. Inhabitants of this nation speak Standard Mandarin, and the current population is approximately 23.52 million.

The Taiwanese excel in innovation and discovery in science and technology. Their inventions include the integrated laptop projector, the optimistic concurrency control method, and a universal crossed molecular beam apparatus for studying chemical reactions.

IGI Global is proud to partner with Taiwan innovators on many levels. With nearly 2,000 affiliates spanning the country, our Taiwanese authors and editors advance and support the quality academic content that IGI Global has become known for. These scholars hail from some of the world's greatest research universities, including National Taiwan University, National Chiao Tung University, National Cheng Kung University, National Tsing Hua University, and more.

IGI Global is also honored to work with influential Tawian partners and researchers from major institutions around the country, including Lily Journal and Book, Win Deal International, Flysheet Information Services, Unifacmanu Taiwan, Johns Enterprise Co., Fourth Information Inc., and more.

As a leader in innovation, IGI Global also works closely with many consortia worldwide including Taiwan Academic E-Book & Database Consortium (TAEBDC) in Taiwan. IGI Global is currently celebrating it’s 4-year anniversary with the TAEBDC consortia. Through the partnership with TAEBDC, IGI Global provides emerging technology research to over 90 institutions including universities, medical facilities and research institutions. This continual collaboration brings nearly 750 e-books to researchers, students and professors throughout Taiwan.
