Editor Question & Answer
What was the driving force or motivation for starting this book project?
Prof. Li: This book aims to give valuable resources and useful methods for graduate students and researchers interested in quantum computation, quantum image processing, quantum algorithm, and emerging interdisciplinary field.
What specific problems does the book address?
Prof. Li: This book addresses some issues in quantum image storage, retrieval, and efficient processing.
How does the book provide a solution to these problems?
Prof. Li: This book provides quantum Fourier transform, quantum wavelet transform, and quantum wavelet packet transform as tool algorithms to realize quantum image efficient processing. In addition, this book describes some typical examples of quantum image representations of three categories, which solve how to store an image in a quantum system, and to retrieve the image from the quantum system.
What do you think about publishing this book change about this field of study?
Prof. Li: This book devotes to the development of novel quantum algorithms for storing, processing, and retrieving visual information.
How unique is this book within its topic coverage?
Prof. Li: This book gives of main quantum algorithms, which are performed in MATLAB R2017a. These simulation codes can help readers understand the proposed algorithms in this book and provide references for the simulation of new quantum algorithms.
