By IGI Global on Jun 5, 2018
Hershey, PATuesday, June 5, 2018 – IGI Global, a leading international academic publisher celebrating 30 years of publishing excellence, recently had two journals indexed in the Web of Science’s Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI), a core collection offering multidisciplinary research that is found within world-leading scientific journals using the most thorough, accurate, and objective information available. The IGI Global journals chosen for indexing include:

International Journal of Geotechnical Earthquake Engineering (IJGEE)
Editors-in-Chief: Prof. T.G. Sitharam from Indian Institute of Science, India and Dr. J. S. Vinod from University of Wollongong, Australia

The International Journal of Geotechnical Earthquake Engineering (IJGEE) encourages publication and dissemination of research and development on geotechnical engineering, geophysics and geothermal engineering, pavement engineering, engineering seismology, engineering geology, disaster mitigation, and structural engineering. This journal presents original articles on the latest findings and industry solutions for those fields by the leading experts. The journal reports and archives cutting-edge research in a timely manner in the form of original research articles, review articles, technical notes, and discussion.

IJGEE
International Journal of E-Health and Medical Communications (IJEHMC)
Editor-in-Chief: Prof. Joel J.P.C. Rodrigues from National Institute of Telecommunications (Inatel) and Brazil & Instituto de Telecomunicações, Portugal

The International Journal of E-Health and Medical Communications (IJEHMC) focuses on theories, systems, methods, algorithms, and applications in healthcare, biomedicine, telemedicine, and medical communications. This journal acts as an interface between e-health and communication technologies and their contribution to medical fields. IJEHMC publishes high-quality application papers, survey and tutorial papers, case studies, and short research notes reflecting global e-health technologies and medical communications contributing to state-of-the-art advances in the fields.

In order to be accepted into this index, titles must follow strict ethical and quality guidelines. Through these forward-thinking publications being indexed in the Emerging Sources Citation Index, these journals will have increased discoverability. Clarivate Analytics’ Web of Science features the world’s leading citation databases, containing over 18,000 high-impact journals with over 100 years of comprehensive coverage.

Both Prof. T.G. Sitharam and Prof. Joel J.P.C. Rodrigues were animated about their journals' acceptance into such a prestigious index as Web of Science:

Prof. T.G. Sitharam “I am very happy to hear that the International Journal of Geotechnical Earthquake Engineering (IJGEE) has been accepted into Web of Science Citation Index (ESCI). I am honored to have been the Editor-in-Chief for the last ten years of this journal. IJGEE presents original articles on the latest findings and industry solutions for fields such as earthquake, structural, geotechnical, and rock engineering, as well as applied geophysics and geology by the leading experts. The journal reports and archives cutting-edge research in a timely manner in the form of articles, review articles, technical notes, and discussion. My primary goal as Editor-in-Chief is to ensure that IJGEE continues to excel and remains flexible in attending to the rapidly shifting scientific communication landscape, while also maintaining and intensifying the high standards of academic excellence for which the journal is known for. I am dedicated to leading the board's mission in providing authors with a productive, fair, and timely review experience and sincerely hope that all geotechnical engineering professionals and scientists working in earthquake engineering and soil dynamics will eagerly access IJGEE for the insightful and stimulating science that will shape our future and lead the way to new innovations in earthquake hazard mitigation,” stated Prof. Sitharam.

Prof. Joel JPC Rodrigues "Receiving the approval for our IJEHMC journal being indexed on the Web of Science Citation Index (ESCI) represents excellent news to me, as the Editor-in-Chief, and confirms the great quality of our leadership and our publication. I am really honored for founding and creating this scientific journal with IGI-Global and very happy for this accomplishment and recognition. It represents the maturity of the journal and the excellent contributions published by authors around the world on eHealth and medical communications. Results from the excellent work performed by the members of the Editorial Review Board and reviewers, that carefully evaluated each contribution, helped achieve the excellence of the published papers and the desired top-level quality for the journal. The support of the publisher staff is also extremely important for the achievements obtained by our journal,” stated Prof. Joel J.P.C. Rodrigues.

The Web of Science© staff examines the longevity of the information presented – whether the data can continue to be researched and what submissions can add to the current field – as well as the timeliness of the journals submitted and the average times the publication has been cited. Topics covered in the ESCI cover a wide range of topics including, but not limited to, biology, medicine, and food science.

To ensure that these journal are made available to the greater academic community, these journals can be found in IGI Global’s InfoSci©-Journals database. This database contains IGI Global’s expansive collection of over 175 journals and is now being offered for an annual subscription price as low as US$ 4,950 for new customers. For any library that invests in an IGI Global journal database, IGI Global will match the library’s investment with a fund of equal value to go toward subsidizing the open access article processing charge (APC) for their students, faculty, and staff at that institution when their work is submitted and accepted under open access into an IGI Global journal housed within that collection.* Be sure to recommend or purchase this database to your institution today!
A sincere thank you goes out to our authors and editors who invested their time in making these journals stand out among publications in the fields of science and art and humanities.
