The State University of New York acknowledges Dr. Strang for commendable achievement

Dr. Kenneth David Strang Honored as SUNY 2016 School of Business & Economics Scholar

Strang 2016 Award SUNY Plattsburgh’s faculty academic accomplishments were recognized at the annual Celebration of Scholarship reception held in Feinberg Library November 18. Hundreds of papers, book chapters, performances, journals, books, presentations, creative works and more were produced by faculty and staff during the 2016 academic year.

College President John Ettling welcomed a group of about 40 faculty and staff to the reception, noting four featured scholars, including IGI Global Author and Editor, Professor of Business and Supply Chain Management, Dr. Kenneth Strang.

Dr. Kenneth David Strang has over 33 years of research experience, first contributing to IGI Global in 2009. He has written more than 210 scholarly papers - 74 of those being sole-authored empirical studies published by respected peer-reviewed journals since joining SUNY Plattsburgh in 2010. His manuscripts span several fields, namely, educational psychology (teaching/learning styles), operations research (project management, technology), marketing/consumer behavior, strategic decision making, risk management, as well as international culture.

He has presented countless papers and written numerous editorials along with several textbooks or chapters, such as research methods (2015), teaching online (2010), and the Project Management Body of Knowledge (2008). Ken teaches and supervises undergraduate, graduate and doctoral students across five disciplines: business administration, management information systems, marketing/consumer behavior, supply chain management and economics/statistics. He has a Doctorate in Project Management (Business Research), an MBA (Strategic Management), a BSBA (Marketing), an AAS (Technology) all with Summa Cum Laude honors. He is an internationally licensed Project Management Professional from PMI (Philadelphia, PA), a Fellow of the Life Management Institute (Atlanta, GA) and is a Certified Network Administrator from Novel (Provo, UT). His lifetime projects/grants have surpassed $7 million. Ken has won several honors including an Emerald Literati Scholarship Award, a Duke of Edinborough community service medal, teaching recognition plaques, and he has received some presidential citations.

Dr. Strang is founder and volunteer Editor-in-Chief for IGI Global's International Journal of Risk & Contingency Management which is indexed by 14 institutions including Inspec and Proquest. He was competitively nominated as Associate-Editor (AE) at seven other respected global journals and still volunteers as AE for IGI Global's International Journal of Information Technology Project Management. Ken also volunteers his expertise to many industry associations including the Construction Management Association of America, National Science Foundation Big Data Hub, IEEE, UNESCO, Australasian Society for Computers in Learning in Tertiary Education, Center for Research in International Development Economics Social Movements, International Testing Evaluation Association, Australian New Zealand Association of Management and the Project Management Institute. He has worked for organizations such as Blue Cross, IBM, Queensland University, and University of Technology Sydney.
