IGI Global’s Platform Enhancements Increase Usability

By IGI Global on Aug 25, 2011
IGI Global is excited to announce some recently implemented platform enhancements which will upgrade the user experience and make discoverability easier. These improvements to our platform include additional functionality to easily cite books and journals; the ability to save individual searches for quick reference; and improved search filters allowing narrower search options, copyright filtering, and improved relevance ranking. These enhancements allow our users to find, save, and cite their research more efficiently.

The most exciting upgrade to our platform is the "favorites" function. This enhancement allows registered users save their searches of books, chapters, journals, and so forth, to a customized favorites list. It also gives our users the freedom to e-mail specific title information or selected PDF material to themselves for further use in their research.

The platform also contains progressive librarian functionality. Our registered librarians now have the ability to download single MARC records from the book and chapter details pages. This improves the librarian's efficiency when adding specific or new content to their search systems, and it also increases the ease of accessing IGI Global's material without the added hassle of downloading and searching through every MARC record on file.

IGI Global is continually improving our platform so we can offer our users, librarians, and researchers an efficient and quality search experience.
