Publishing Tomorrow’s Research Today – IGI Global’s Open Access Journal Program is a Significant Step Forward in Advancing Research and Knowledge

IGI Global’s Open Access Journal Program Adds Four New Open Access Journals for Inauguration in 2024

By IGI Global on Sep 22, 2023

IGI Global, a leading international academic publisher for over 35 years, is proud to announce the establishment of four new open access journals, adding to its distinguished portfolio of nearly 200 open access journals in their open access journal program. Due to the resolve and determination to convert its entire collection of nearly 200 open access journals earlier this year, IGI Global has quickly risen to become one of the largest publishers of fully open access journals and is dedicated to “Publishing Tomorrow’s Research Today!” The addition of these journals reaffirms IGI Global's commitment to fostering innovation, promoting interdisciplinary research, and facilitating global knowledge dissemination.

The following four open access journals have been established under IGI Global's esteemed open access journal publishing program:

"The addition of these four new OA journals to our list of nearly 200 journals reflects our ongoing commitment to providing open access publishing options to the research community. This achievement has positioned IGI Global as the third largest fully (100%) Open Access publisher, with its journals earning recognition and impact in the Web of Sciences (SSCI, SCIE, and ESCI), as well as SCOPUS. We accomplished this significant milestone of converting all our journals to 100% open access in less than three years and, building on this success, have introduced a practical agreement for libraries to support their faculty's research endeavors by providing funding and access to discounted APC rates."

– Melissa Wagner, Vice President of Editorial, IGI Global

IGI Global's commitment to open access publishing extends beyond the benefits of increased usage, citation impact, and potential inclusion in prestigious databases like the Web of Science and SCOPUS. Our complete transition to a full open access publisher, boasting nearly 200 journals, reflects our unwavering dedication to fostering innovation, promoting diverse research topics, and advancing knowledge accessibility. These newly established journals offer authors a dynamic platform to share their research globally without barriers, enhancing its impact and discoverability within as little as four weeks from submission to publication. We encourage experts in these fields to consider joining our Editorial Review Boards, contributing to scholarly engagement and collaboration in our mission to drive innovation and expand the reach of research within a thriving global scholarly community.

"Libraries that invest in an IGI Global Open Access agreement directly facilitate funding for faculty to benefit from publishing in our Open Access journals, spanning subject areas such as Business & Management, Scientific, Technical, and Medical (STM), and Education. This investment demonstrates your library's unwavering commitment to sustainable open access models and services as a funding source for faculty's open access research endeavors. Embracing Open Access not only enhances the visibility and citation impact of faculty research but also offers significant discounts on Article Processing Charges (APCs), thoughtfully customized to match your library's investment level, all while remaining budget friendly."

– Nick Newcomer, Vice President of Sales & Marketing, IGI Global

Librarians, by investing in Institutional Open Access Agreements with IGI Global, can secure funding for their faculty to publish in our open access journal program of nearly 200 journals. This support not only grants seamless access but also enhances research impact, benefiting both the faculty and the library's prestige. Join us in advancing knowledge exchange within your academic community.

More from IGI Global

There is a growing issue in the research community of authors submitting their articles to gold OA journals (and even hybrid OA/subscription-based journals), and then withdrawing their article after it has been accepted to the journal, effectively utilizing all of the resources of that journal, including the peer review, only to then refuse to publish at the end of the process.
