Prof. Eduard Babulak Answers Our Questions

How has your professional background prepared you to edit this publication?

Prof. Babulak: I was trained as an electrical and electronics engineer and continued my education in computer aided engineering and robotics, followed by studies in information systems and computer science. My lifelong studies, training, and work laid a solid foundation for my engineering approach to exploring and mastering information communication technologies (ICT), computer networks, communication & internet technologies, digitalization, e-services, cyber security, and artificial intelligence (AI) in conjunction with robotics, and the rise of the ultra smart cyberspace.

What inspired you to write your book?

Prof. Babulak: I was inspired by the current rise of ultra smart cyberspace driven by the use of AI, ultra-smart computation, fast internet and humanoid robotics.

What is your mission for this book?

Prof. Babulak: The mission for this title is to bring to light the most recent, state-of-the-art advances, and future research and innovations in the field of AI, humanoid robotics, ultra-smart computation, and future fully-automated cyberspaces.

How is your research going to impact your field and how does it relate to current trends and social matters?

Prof. Babulak: The applications of AI, humanoid robotics, ultra-smart computations, and the possibility of fully-automated cyberspaces are starting to have a great impact on society today. It will become a driving force for future research, innovation, and development for the next generation of cutting-edge technologies. It will transform the way we live, communicate, study, and work.

Who is the publication intended for?

Prof. Babulak: The publication is intended for a wide community of well-informed scholars, faculty, and students at all levels (i.e., BSc, MSc, PhD, and postdocs). Decision makers in the business industry, government/military administrators, and the general public can benefit from this publication as well.

How does your publication stand out from others like it?

Prof. Babulak: This publication is unique in two ways. One, it is relevant and current; and two, it is informative with excellent illustrations and references. This publication is an excellent reference presenting up-to-date information on technological development, innovation, and research in the field of AI, humanoid robotics, ultra-smart computation, and future fully automated cyberspaces.

What are other topic areas that your readership would find of interest?

Prof. Babulak: The readers will find a number of topics that are closely related to these fields of studies, including practical applications, case scenarios, and discussion of AI ethics and societal impact. As well as philosophical discussion on how, when, and why AI, humanoid robotics, ultra-smart computation, and future fully automated cyberspaces contributes to society today and tomorrow.

What are some future directions for your research?

Prof. Babulak: I am a very passionate scholar, educator, professional engineer, and consultant. Most of all, I continue my studies in the fields of technology that will and should contribute to the betterment of mankind.

Tell us about your experience with IGI Global so far.

Prof. Babulak: I have worked with IGI Global for a number of years. I have published two books, four book chapters, and I'm currently working on a third book. During my work, I was met with excellent support, guidance, and good counseling from the IGI Global Team at all stages of the project. Starting from the initial stage up to the final production and release of the publication I received an excellent support. I remain most grateful for IGI Global's excellent team and leadership they gave me over the years, and I look forward to working with them in the future. 0Prof. Eduard Babulak is an accomplished international scholar, researcher, consultant, educator, professional engineer, and polyglot, with more than thirty years of experience. He has served as an editor, reviewer, conference chair, and has successfully published. He served as chair of the IEEE Vancouver Ethics, Professional and Conference Committee. He was invited to Plenary as a keynote speaker in Tokyo (2023), Oxford (2020 & 2023), University of Cambridge (2005 & 2010), MIT (2005 & 2010), Yokohama National University & University of Electro Communications in Tokyo (2009 – 2010), Kyushu Institute of Technology (Japan) (2016), Shanghai Jiao Tong University (2013), Sungkyunkwan University in Korea (2012 – 2014), University of Surrey, Purdue University, Penn State, Graz University of Technology (Austria), Czech Technical University, and other prestigious academic institutions worldwide. His academic and engineering work has been recognized internationally by the engineering council in UK, the European Federation of Engineers, and credited by the Ontario Society of Professional Engineers and APEG in British Columbia in Canada. He was awarded a higher postdoctoral degree DOCENT - Doctor of Science (D.Sc.) in the Czech Republic, Ph.D., M.Sc., and High National Certificate (HNC) diplomas in the United Kingdom, as well as the Diploma Engineer (MSc and B.Sc. ) in Electrical Engineering in Slovakia. He is a fellow of the Royal Society RSA, London, UK; Chartered Fellow Mentor and Member of the ELITE Group of the British Computer Society, London, UK; 2013-2014 Invited Panel Member for National Science Foundation, USA; Expert Consultant for HORIZON 2020 & CORDIS FP6 - FP7 European Commission, Brussels, Belgium; Mentor and Senior Member of the IEEE and ACM, USA, and Distinguished Member of the ACM, USA; Chartered Member of the IET, and nominated Fellow of the Institution of Engineering and Technology, London, UK. He serves as an Editor-in-Chief, Associate Editor-in-Chief, Co-Editor, and Guest-Editor. He speaks 16 languages and his biography was cited in the Cambridge Blue Book, Cambridge Index of Biographies, Stanford Who’s Who, and a number of issues of Who’s Who in the World and America.
