IGI Global showcases the latest titles in education at the AERA Annual Meeting

Dedicated to Disseminating the Highest Quality Research in Education: IGI Global Attended the 2019 AERA Annual Meeting

By Sharlene Oong on Apr 9, 2019
Recently, IGI Global exhibited at the 2019 American Educational Research Association (AERA) Annual Meeting in Toronto, Canada, from April 5-9, 2019. Mrs. Lindsay Wertman, Managing Director, represented the international academic publisher at AERA, showcasing the exclusive benefits of being an IGI Global editor/author, as well as our latest reference titles on educational technologies, blended learning, gaming, and more.

Ensuring that researchers can receive the highest recognition and citation impact for their work, well in advance of Plan S, Mrs. Wertman highlighted IGI Global’s Open Access (OA) Fee Waiver (Offset Model) Initiative at the AERA Annual Meeting that provides institutions with an additional source of OA article processing charges (APCs) funding.

When a library invests in IGI Global’s InfoSci®-Books (4,500+ reference books) and /or InfoSci®-Journals (185+ scholarly journals) databases, they can take advantage of the OA Fee Waiver (Offset Model) Initiative. Through this initiative, IGI Global matches the library’s investment with a fund of equal value to go towards subsidizing the OA APCs for their faculty patrons at that institution when their work is accepted under OA into an IGI Global journal.*

Not only will researchers have the opportunity to take advantage of this additional source of OA APC funding, but they will be able to access the latest emerging research that spans across 350+ topics in 11 core subjects including business, computer science, education, science & engineering, social sciences, and more, through the InfoSci-Books, a database of over 4,500+ reference books containing nearly 100,000 chapters, and the InfoSci-Journals, a database of nearly 25,000 peer-reviewed articles and 1,000,000+ citation references sourced from over 185+ scholarly journals.

Additionally, Mrs. Wertman showcased IGI Global’s Core Reference Titles in Education, which covers over 65 topics within nine (9) different categories. Notable titles include Social Justice and Parent Partnerships in Multicultural Education Contexts edited by Prof. Katherine Norris from West Chester University of Pennsylvania, USA, and Prof. Shartriya Collier from California State University – Northridge, USA, Handmade Teaching Materials for Students With Disabilities, edited by Dr. Shigeru Ikuta from Otsuma Women's University, Japan, and more. As a publisher of nearly 1,000 reference books and 13 scholarly journals that spans across 65 topics including and not limited to educational technologies, special education, curriculum development, and instructional design, IGI Global works with over 100,000+ industry leading scholars from prestigious institutions (i.e. Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Harvard University, Stanford University, University of Cambridge, University of Oxford, Tsinghua University, Australian National University, and many more) to produce the most forward-thinking content to the research community.

While adhering to a strict, yet concise peer review process, we strive to offer authors and editors a seamless publishing experience by aiding in the conceptualization, development, production, marketing, and distribution of their research. Our personalized one-on-one care, expeditious publishing process, supportive technologies, sound ethical practice, and desire to see your research shared worldwide set us apart as a distinguished and reputable publishing house. More from IGI Global

There is a growing issue in the research community of authors submitting their articles to gold OA journals (and even hybrid OA/subscription-based journals), and then withdrawing their article after it has been accepted to the journal, effectively utilizing all of the resources of that journal, including the peer review, only to then refuse to publish at the end of the process.
