COVID-19 Update And Electronic Resources Available for Mutual Library Customers

COVID-19 Partner Update

By IGI Global on Apr 10, 2020
Dear Partners,

As you know, the COVID-19 pandemic is impacting the publishing and academic community in many ways, including canceled in-person classes and events, travel bans, workforce and supply shortages, and general isolation protocols. At IGI Global, we understand the challenges of serving the needs of our mutual library customers during these turbulent times. Therefore, we will continue to operate at full capacity while taking precautionary measures to ensure the safety of our dedicated staff (i.e. remote work and virtual meetings).

Throughout this pandemic, we are committed to safely producing and distributing quality research publications and supporting you and your customers’ needs. This includes the following:

  • New Title Releases and Print-On-Demand (POD): All IGI Global forthcoming titles will be released with no anticipated delays. We are currently working closely with our authors and editors to ensure their projects are produced and completed for their scheduled release date. Additionally, as all of IGI Global’s publications are produced through Print-On-Demand, we have communicated with our major POD partners and they do not anticipate any disruption in manufacturing or distribution. Your orders will be produced and shipped to your customers as soon as they are ready.

  • E-Books and E-Journals: Accessibility to online resources will be of critical importance, as many universities and research centers are migrating to an online-only model for the next several weeks. As a reminder, IGI Global offers all its book and journal titles in electronic format. Hosted on IGI Global’s advanced InfoSci® platform, these titles are available with no embargo of content (electronic format is released months in advance of print), unlimited simultaneous users with no additional charge, and no maintenance fees with remote access options available for institutions.

  • 20% Passthrough Discount on Titles Related to the COVID-19 Pandemic: In support of combatting the current challenges of COVID-19, our Executive Editorial Team has hand-curated a list of titles related to this pandemic (medicine and healthcare, emergency management, government and economy, tourism and hospitality, social issues, online education, and cybersecurity). As these titles are extremely valuable to librarian customers during this time, IGI Global is offering a 20% customer discount on the 900+ e-books related to the COVID-19 pandemic. Download the full title list here to share among your customers. Offer expires June 30, 2020. Discount cannot be combined with any other offer.

  • InfoSci®-Databases: In addition to our electronic single titles, we also offer a full line of databases, the InfoSci-Databases collection, which includes IGI Global’s InfoSci-Books (5,900+ e-books) database and InfoSci-Journals (185+ e-journals) database, or the new InfoSci-Knowledge Solutions databases, which are ideal for subject librarians looking for content across the major subject areas of business, computer science and IT, education, and the social sciences. Libraries who invest in these databases can also take advantage of our OA Fee Waiver (Read and Publish) Initiative, which provides an additional source of OA APC for their patrons. All of the titles related to COVID-19 are featured within these resources, making them ideal for your customers.

  • Free 60-Day Trial Access to IGI Global’s InfoSci- Medical, Healthcare, and Life Sciences Database: IGI Global is offering a free trial to our medical and healthcare subject database, which features over 400+ e-books related to public health, vaccines and treatments, hospital management, healthcare, and related topics. Contact eresources@igi-global.com to set up access for interested customers. Offer expires June 30, 2020.
