Abstract
When the concept of serial film is mentioned, mostly Hollywood Industrial Cinema films come to mind. As a matter of fact, It is also possible to define serial films, due to their structure, as sub-genres that feed Hollywood's genre phenomenon and marketing conditions too much. Within the scope of this study, Joachim Trier's “Oslo Trilogy,” one of the Nordic auteur representatives of European Art Cinema, which can be an alternative to Hollywood serial films, will be evaluated. This evaluation will be made with the method of descriptive analysis on the axis of the cinematography and narrative of this trilogy. Therefore, the importance of the study is that it is based on the assumption that Trier's “Oslo Trilogy,” which is the latest in production year among the rare series from European Art Cinema, has differences in narrative and cinematography from the Hollywood trilogy serial films.
