What is Coefficient of Linear Correlation

Encyclopedia of Business Analytics and Optimization
A scalar measure of linear dependence in the interval [-1, 1], also referred to as “Pearson correlation coefficient”. Technically, it is derived from the covariance figure divided by the product of the standard deviations.
