Abstract

In light of recent public health events such as the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) and monkey pox (mpox), digital technologies have gained more attention. The term “digital twin” (DT) refers to the computer-generated, virtual counterpart of a real-world entity, such as a community, device, or person. intricacy of the latter and forecast, stop, keep an eye on, and improve actual results. There has been discussion of the potential applications of DT systems in public health, ranging from organising large vaccination campaigns to figuring out how diseases spread. Not withstanding the potential benefits for the healthcare industry, a number of ethical, societal, and economic issues might prevent DT from being widely used. However, establishing proper regulations, bolstering sound governance, and initiating international cooperative initiatives guarantee the early adoption of DT technology.
