Abstract

The purpose of this chapter is to identify the relationship between digital transformation leadership in shaping digital culture and employee attitude and contrasting strategical approach in startups and mature organizations. Based on a review of extant literature, this study develops a theoretical rationale behind developing a conceptual framework to organizations specific digital transformation strategies. There is a different strategical approach that a digital transformation leadership needs to address while implementing any technological initiatives as organizational ability to rapidly adapt to the new innovative transformed solution is very critical in shaping company growth trajectory. A conceptual framework of digital transformation through digital culture and employee attitude requires the empirical validation of the suggested conceptual framework. Organizations should focus on enhancing digital skills of employees and digital culture to foster adoption of new technologies.

2. Literature Review

The digital transformation comprises three foundational elements that demand the diligent attention of digital transformation leaders: firstly, the refinement of customer experience, this involves the meticulous analysis and segmentation of customers, augmentation of revenue streams via digitally fortified sales techniques such as predictive marketing, and the optimization of customer interactions across multiple touchpoints through seamless cross-channel coherence and self-service capabilities. Secondly, operational enhancement which necessitates a thorough overhaul facilitated by digitalization of processes, empowerment of the workforce, and rigorous performance monitoring. Lastly, reconfiguration of business models to embrace the imperatives of digital globalization and the integration of digital modifications into existing business frameworks. (El Hilali et al., 2019). There exist five tiers of IT-facilitated digital transformation within business operations: business scope redefinition, business network redesign, business process overhaul, internal integration, and localized exploitation each with set of potential benefits for organizations. (Steiber& Alänge, 2021). A successful innovation has 3 benchmarking features, user desirability, business viability and technology feasibility each of them are interconnected with centrally held through Innovation (Brown 2009). There exist primarily six developmental stages in the process of digitalization: Computerization, Connectivity, Visibility, Transparency, Predictive Capacity, and Adaptability. One should expect latency at different levels of actions undertaken while conducting digital transformation while taking actions, making decision, analyzing data, and capturing insights. (Schuh et al., 2017)
