Abstract

This chapter aims to emphasize the crucial role of logistics in promoting responsible consumption and production practices, a core objective of Sustainable Development Goal 12 (SDG 12). It explores the significant contributions of green manufacturing, green procurement, and reverse logistics to sustainability initiatives by reducing environmental impacts and optimizing resource use. Green manufacturing (GM) practices focus on efficient raw material management and waste reduction, significantly lowering carbon footprints. Green procurement (GP) encourages consumers to choose environmentally conscious products, fostering sustainable supply chain development. Reverse logistics (RL) enhances sustainable consumption and production by managing recycling activities and redistributing products to secondary markets, thus emphasizing the importance of logistics in these processes.
