Abstract

The usage of desktop computers and other smart devices is spreading rapidly over a wide range of professions. These advanced systems use a range of applications and sensors to produce information. Massive amounts of information are constantly being created and stored by all smart devices. As a result, businesses constantly create and store enormous volumes of information. The amount of information produced by various types of sensors is growing as a result of the growth of IoT. Due to the exponential development in the amount of information being created and the inability of traditional databases to manage a wide variety of organized and unorganized information types, big data analytics is now the subject of a lot of studies. Moreover, various developed frameworks and smart detection of Parkinson's disease are discussed to design sustainable solutions for patients. This chapter will focus on various areas in the health sector that can improve using fog computing and provide optimized solutions to certain issues such as latency.

2. Fog Computing Characteristics

Fog computing executes all tasks related to computing near the edge/user end. All computing tasks like processing, storage and communication carries out near the user device. This is a very important and basic characteristic of fog computing as associated with other previous existing models. Moreover, there are another additional characteristics listed by different researchers (Hu et al.,2017; Sarkar et al.,2016; Hu et al.,2016) as shown in Table 1.
