Abstract

The State of Ceará, located in the Brazilian Northeast, has a high tourist potential due to the beauty of its beaches and the great geomorphological differences within the territory. In addition, there are warm winds that allow the practice of wind sports throughout the state seacoast. This chapter presents three categories of analysis here interrelated with planning: wind sports, the use of social projects to improve the tourist experience, and the participation of the local community in social projects. The main objective of this chapter is to present innovations that might be implemented with the creation of a tourist route based on existing structures in the state of Ceará. The focus is to use the attractiveness of extreme wind sports linked to social responsibility (NGOs) and the strengthening of the tourist image. This chapter presents the social projects that relate tourism, social projects, and planning. Thru this job, the authors hope to give light to other destinations, which might perform the practice of benchmarking to face similar problems.

Introduction

The tourist activity is dynamic, complex and full of details, which requires careful planning. This is because tourist-receiving territories need to efficiently plan, organize, manage and disseminate tourist businesses in order to remain present in an environment of rivalry. Likewise, the economic activities of tourism generate socioeconomic improvements, such as new job opportunities, improved quality of life and increased purchasing power for the tourist population. However, we can also testify that uncontrolled exploitation causes irreversible damage to the socioeconomic and environmental structures of the regions that receive large tourist flows. Hence, the need for planning and dissemination that result in a conscious exploration of tourist resources through effective regulatory public policies, capable of curbing harmful and harmful tourism practices to the place. In addition, to achieve sustainable tourism development, the participation of all agents involved in the relationship with the activity is required. Thus, as it is common knowledge, the host community is a stakeholder in the development.

This work presents the Ceará’s existing tourist potential and its innovations, such innovative practices are focusing on extreme sports and on the creation of a tourist route to manage paths and flows to be traveled by tourists who value sports practices known as extreme wind sports, such as kitesurfing, windsurfing, paragliding and hang gliding.

In order to elucidate the real functional characteristic of tourist routes, it is stated that these routes are designed to facilitate access, movement, organization and management of resources, in order to increase the travel time of tourists, thus causing the best experiences possible periods of travel. The creation of scripts would therefore be a categorization strategy, widely used in marketing and that is able to attract the eye to a product or service, in the individual's mind, the product offered stands out due to this route is an organized and prepared for his or hers enjoyment.

From the development of sports tourism on the coast of Ceará, we identified the inclusive factor that gave developed tourism to local labor. In this sense, young people at risk of exclusion from coastal beaches and from the outback are being professionalized, thus, these areas are achieving quality tourism. Today we can already witness in the regions of Cumbuco Beach, Guagiru Island and Titanzinho Beach successful examples in which wind sports rescue young people who were at risk of marginalization, for a life full of new positive experiences. In addition, we also identified in the proposed script the presence of the 4 “R” of the circular economy (reduce, reuse, repair and recycle) in the design of products and services related to sports tourism in this region.

However, the main objective of this chapter is to present innovations that might be implemented with the creation of a Tourist Route based on existing structures in the state of Ceará. And with the focus on the extreme wind sports linked to social responsibility (NGOs) and the strengthening of the tourist image of the State of Ceará, carried out by encouraging visitors to spread the good image of the experiences lived on their social networks.

Thus, this chapter will present readers with the possibility of encouraging the use of their individual electro-technological devices, such as laptops, smartphones and tablets that, using electronic media, have the ability to positively disclose or destroy a tourist destination almost instantly. Innovations in the dissemination of the image of the tourist destination will be presented, as there is a need for a well-defined and well-worked virtual image in technological communication networks.

The image must truly attract the potential tourist, as it is understood that a dissatisfied tourist will not return to the visited site and consequently he or she will disclose their negative experiences to everyone in their life cycle. To avoid a negative image wave, it is necessary to create and infuse messages that can add value to the destination of curiosity and the future visit, Perinotto et al. (2017). In this sense, the participation of the local community in the development and propagation of the image of Sport Tourism in Ceará is an innovation, since that one of the aspects that decant the look of the potential tourist to one destination or another is the authenticity of the place.
