Introduction

Sustainability is becoming essential, yet its definition is still being determined. “Triple main concern” means balancing economic, social, and environmental factors. Sustainable development creates a society where people can live satisfying lives without depleting natural resources or harming the environment. Practical strategies work in business, government, and society. Complex business involves selling goods and services for profit. Many definitions of business include exchanging goods and services for money. Large companies to tiny family-owned enterprises might produce, buy, or sell goods and services. Strategic management theory and sustainability are two emerging theories that address the difficulties and opportunities of modern companies. As firms face more pressure to address environmental and social challenges, sustainable business practices have grown. Sustainable businesses aim to create long-term value while addressing the environment, society, and economy (Raza et al., 2022). The 1983 UN Brundtland Commission focused on sustainable development concerns. In “Our Common Future,” the commission defined sustainable advancement as “improvement that addresses the issues of the present without compromising the capacity of future ages to address their issues” (Brundtland Commission, 1987). This chapter discusses company sustainability, including its benefits, problems, and prospects.
