Abstract

In this regard, the purpose of this study is to examine artificial intelligence and its impact on technology, the future of students, and education. It can be said that education is one of the most important areas that will be affected sooner or later by the development of technology, especially artificial intelligence techniques. This impact naturally has both positive and negative aspects, so how can we benefit from it? This chapter discusses the most important potential applications of artificial intelligence that can be used in the educational process. It explains to them the positive and negative impact of technology on education, clarifies the strengths and weaknesses, and shows how to benefit from these points. It also helps them develop critical thinking skills, enhances creativity and development, and encourages them to experiment with tools.

1. Introduction

In recent years, there has been great development in all fields of knowledge, to the point that the current era has been given many names, including the information age and the era of the scientific and cognitive revolution. Artificial intelligence is what the general public expresses as the ability of machines or computers to think and act like humans, which represents efforts towards computerized systems to imitate the human mind and its actions (Artman and Combs, 2018). In this regard, the basic definition of artificial intelligence can be expressed as the skill of imitating human behavior or the human mind through tools or software (Muhammad and Watson, 2019). According to Times (2016), it may be an illusion of the current architecture to believe that AI will come within the computational format used at home. It can enter our lives in different forms and functions. Ng (2017) claims that AI is the new electricity of this era. Artificial intelligence is expected to be the cornerstone of the Fifth Industrial Revolution by presenting itself as a powerful factor in ensuring economic development with its potential (see Gulick, 2019). Karsenty (2019) points out that these new forms of technology will fill our lives and interest our youth in the future. Schools may have no choice but to make way for them with AI technology. The term intelligence comes from the Latin language and means the ability to understand. Over the years, the term has been used to refer to a variety of fields, from military strategy to economics. Currently, its general-purpose use is mostly associated with reasoning, good grades, and problem-solving skills (Cohen et al., 2009) from a cognitive perspective. Artificial intelligence has witnessed tremendous development in recent years and has become a technology that will revolutionize lifestyles. This technology has been introduced into higher education (Hinojo-Lucena et al., 2019). Artificial intelligence connects the fields of learning. The neural network classifies, distinguishes, and explains, representing a paradigm shift in knowledge construction (Jena, 2018). Khair, Stuart, and Khair (2018 indicate that artificial intelligence has a positive impact on students’ outcomes and futures. Zidane (2018) explained that one of the most prominent strengths of this chapter is that the use of artificial intelligence in teaching contributes to developing the skills of students and trainees, and artificial intelligence also contributes to improving the leadership level of students through self-education according to the interactive method and educational stages. From the scientific material. Training on the test and knowing the correct answer lead to self-evaluation and knowledge of the individual’s level, in addition to increasing the student’s creative abilities and imagination through the use of graphic and pictorial programs to highlight the scientific material. Strengths contribute to the classroom, providing the opportunity to share strengths and share resources and experiences. humanity, embracing different viewpoints and diversity, and benefiting from the analysis of past experiences. Despite the great progress achieved by research in the field of artificial intelligence in giving computers some of the characteristics of artificial intelligence, it is still too early to say that there are programs capable of relating to the human mind in the way of thinking and creativity. Artificial intelligence programs are merely a development in specific software, specialized in specific applied fields, where the machine takes into account the result of human experience in a specific field, so the person decides to act based on his feelings, knowledge, and experience, intentionally or unintentionally. Artificial intelligence is only a means to facilitate education and should not It must be relied upon, especially in the absence of controls. This is considered one of the weak points (Yoshika, Sage, 2007). From the above, it is clear that artificial intelligence is one of the sciences that relies primarily on the computer and its programs. It collects, classifies, distinguishes, and explains learning domains in a neural network. It is a qualitative leap in acquiring knowledge that has a positive impact on the student’s success and future.
