Abstract

With the progressive growth in the adaptability of the Blockchain technology with flexible solutions, various industries, academicians and researchers are paying attentions in such area to explore Nobel opportunities. Due to its qualities like decentralization, immutability, and encryption, block chain has the potential to shift the hierarchy of healthcare also. This area has observed many benefits of Blockchain technology, but still people have hesitations to adapt it due to lack of standardization, high cost, lack of awareness, and lack of technical knowledge to implement it. This chapter aimed to showcase the potential for block chain technology in the tale care system.Various BC based models and frameworks are discussed to cover various stages of secured data transfer for patient empowerment. This covers all technological issues in storing medical records in the various application areas where block chains will provide secured and authenticated transfers of patient personal data.

Introduction To Distributed Ledger Technology (Dlt)

Finding ways to secure medical data and safeguard online privacy is essential in a digital age that is constantly changing. Healthcare security attack might be in the form of compromising the privacy of patient data, misuse of medical records for misguiding the patients and other frauds related to different players in healthcare.blockchain is a cutting-edge distributed technology that has been welcomed into the healthcare environment to secure and protect medical data. One essential requirement in the medical field is that patients have the ability to manage their health information. Global users will be able to store their health records using blockchain, decide how to use the data, and get individualised health advice.latest involved research project in such domain, look at a wide range of blockchain applications, including identity management, supply chain management, inventory management, and a concept known as zero-knowledge proof, which describes how to uniquely identify a person without revealing any personal information.the idea of using blockchain to underpin the well-known cryptocurrency bitcoin was first put forth (Clauson, Breeden, Davidson, & Mackey, 2018). Block chain, however, has recently been embraced in a number of new industries such as healthcare, Smart transportation and IoT (Dash, Gantayat, & Das, 2021). It may improve transparency and fairness which help businesses economically and space. Blockchain technology is incorporated in various modern applications such as financial activities, healthcare, internet of things, military and defense and other governmental services (Langer, 2022) (Cason, 2017).

To welcome the advent of new paradigms for supporting smart and secure healthcare, we must have some basic idea ofvarious steps involved in blockchain technology to support the smart and secure functioning of the any application(Agrawal & Kumar 2020).Blockchain is a particular type of database as shown in the Figure1,where every new data is stored in the block which blocks are then chained together.since each block contains its own mathematical hash, blockchains are immutable, unless the majority reached a consensus to do so.

Innovative technology like blockchain makes it feasible to develop reliable applications(Radanović & Likić, 2018). Blockchain technology's global, immutable repositories guarantee reliable storage and other security controls(Langer, 2022). The chapter provided a comprehensive overview of the benefits that blockchain technology can provide to healthcare (Agrawal & Kumar 2020). The second segment covers a wide range of Usecases of healthcare sector and specially talemedicine where blockchain technology can be used. The further sections proposed two different architecture approaches for implementaingBlockchain in Tele-Healthcare.At last the chapter is concluded by stating that the medicare environment may see new value as a result of the confluence of blockchain.
