Abstract

The aim is to design a 3D augmented reality (AR) weather visualization to investigate future tragedy and daily forecasting. Imagine a world where all physical objects could be made, destroyed, customized, and used in endless ways. Augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) can create such a place. The background for the study is thus: to analyze, learn implementing and building of an AR Weather application using the OpenWeatherMap Weather API. OpenWeatherMap provides access to local and global weather data via application programming interface (API). OpenWeatherMap serves millions of customers around the world by providing a wide selection of weather-related goods with varying degrees of detail and precision. The research question is if smartphone- and tablet-based 3D AR weather visualizations can be effective tools to enhance current weather forecasting techniques. The methods used in this chapter were making use of AR weather App using unity, AR Foundation, and OpenWeatherMap to stimulate the visualization.

Motivation

In this conspicuous changes, most existing approaches only make use of tabular data, simple 2D plots, or conventional desktop 2D Geographic Information System(GIS) tools that are not optimized for mobile use. The purpose of weather Forecasting using AR is to reduce weather related losses and enhance social benefits by providing advance reports based on current location. By using mobile app one can get up to date with the useful information about weather condition and accordingly act on it. As this generation each and every person has access to internet therefore anyone can get the information at any point of time. Realistic simulations of environmental conditions for in-depth research have become possible because to the integration of new technologies, such as web-based platforms with real-time knowledge creation capabilities, into environmental problem solving. By visualizing the past, incident we have planned to develop a mobile application which can detect the current situation by visualizing the climate condition we can reduce this type of incident.
