What is Stress, Depression, and Anxiety?

Stress: Stress is a feeling of physical or mental tension or anxiety that a person comes across in case of unavoidable circumstances or any thought which makes one restless, angry and frustrated. Put simply, stress is the result of being restless and tense due to expectations that are remote from reality. Stress can be positive, that is stress keeps a person active, boosted and ready for any peril. On the other hand, stress can have an overall negative impact on an individual if the stressors persist for longer durations without relaxation or waiting causing a breakdown.

Depression: A mood illness known as depression results in a chronic sense of melancholy and interest loss. Variously referred to as clinical depression or major depressive disorder, it has an impact on one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviour and can result in a range of psychological and medical issues. You could find it difficult to go about your daily business and occasionally you might think life isn't worth living.

Anxiety: Anxiety is the body's normal reaction to stress. It's a sensation of unease or worry about what lies ahead. For instance, some people may experience anxiety and worry when attending a job interview or making a speech on the first day of class. Depending on the individual experiencing it, anxiety can feel differently. Emotions might vary from heart palpitations to tummy butterflies. It's possible for you to feel uncontrollably out of control, as though your body and mind are at odds.

Common Reasons

There are several reasons why stress is normally occurring to humans. Some of them may be financial obligations that people face in daily life, emotional stress, and workplace or career-related. Students go through academic stress, while disturbed individuals face PTSD, and post-traumatic stress. People find it difficult to cope in the face of changes in the status quo, uncertainty, loss of very close ones, illness or physical health issues, etc.
