With a focus on the healthcare industry, the chapter starts by presenting data analytics and its several subtypes, including descriptive, diagnostic, predictive, and viewpoint analytics. Furthermore, a description of the fundamental abilities such as statistical, mathematical, and database access that are necessary to manage a wealth of healthcare data is offered. Patient preventative care, patient management, public health management, medication development, and healthcare fraud detection are among the applications of data analytics that are covered in the part examining how to improve the standard of care in the healthcare industry.
