Abstract

Among the numerous sorts of Industries 5.0, machine learning incorporates AI, which is both a necessary and promising component. Companies in the food, health, and pharmaceutical industries, among others, consistently provide excellent outcomes, which are good for customers. An AI system that provides data in a way that people can understand and use is proposed in this chapter. Therefore, the chapter's explanation of Food Industry 5.0 is based on the idea that AI and HR are converging. The result will be that businesses will have more information on the most recent innovations in the food industry, including how to save time and money while increasing output. As a result, the food industry can make a lot of money by preparing meals in the most promotional, sanitary, and healthful way possible.

1. Introduction

The cultivation and distribution of food, and provisions, have long been seen as both an essential human necessity and the pinnacle of agricultural production (Alshahrani, 2021). Every nation's prosperity depends on food industrial products (Fidan et al., 2023). Furthermore, it is a key component in the development of national and international economies (Kumar, Gudiseva, et al., 2022). Consequently, solutions for the food industry must be thoroughly researched and tested to ensure their effectiveness and safety when implemented correctly (Kumar et al., 2022). Along with other newly developed technologies, artificial intelligence (AI) has shown promise in recent decades for improving the ability to achieve ideas (Kumar et al., 2023). Consequently, research into the high-tech food industry and advanced agricultural techniques powered by AI is crucial (Mendhe et al. (2021)). The societal expectations are addressed and high-quality goods are produced on schedule using these tactics (Narsimhulu et al., 2022). By immediately using these cutting-edge advancements, the food industry may boost its income by making much more healthy foods. The highlighted area falls under each of the distinct categories (Veeraiah et al. (2022)). This study covers all the bases when it comes to current technology (Shukla & Tiwari, 2023), providing a synopsis of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning studies in the food businesses(Yedida et al., 2023). AI is used for more in these simple kinds of tasks. In addition, it might be useful for storing, preparing, and supplying food (Miorandi et al., 2012). Intelligent devices, like as robotics and smart drones, can help bring down the cost of packaging (Nath et al., 2023). In addition, it will promote the distribution of food supplies (Khan et al., 2023), the completion of work in dangerous environments, and the supply of items of very high quality (Motlagh et al., 2020). The two main areas where AI has made significant strides in the food business are food quality governance and food security management. Given the growing interest in using Industry 5.0 technology for a variety of possible categories (Pivarnik et al., 2016), they were surprised to see that relatively little prior work focused on food security as an application of these technologies (Fidan et al., 2023). This deduction highlights the need to conduct an assessment of Industry 5.0 tools and their potential applications across the entire food supply chain. The goal is to identify ways in which these tools can be used to improve the food system and ultimately benefit consumers. Automated collaborative work is the future of Industry 5.0. The present article set out to do just that—offer a high-level summary of the potential advantages of Industry 5.0 technology across the whole food supply chain, from production to distribution to consumption. It illustrated the advantages of utilizing these significant technologies—such as artificial intelligence, massive analysis of data, the Internet of Everything (IoE), and so on—in a manner that is centred on the human element to work together to incorporate it into the food system and achieve durability of the supply chain, quality, honesty, and privacy. As far as anybody can tell, no one has yet investigated this subject.
